Many of the interiors in this grandiose Swiss alpine hotel have been made of solid wood. The thickness of the wood in some of the solitaires reached up to 60 cm. In order to avoid certain future damage to such thick wood – cracking and tearing, Mobilier Group has hydrothermally treated the wood for fourteen days (boiling it at 100° C), which resulted in plastification of the wood, which means it will never succumb to either drought or moisture.
