Europe‘s Leading Landmark
Hotel 2013

The interiors of this hotel were made of cherry wood. This wood tends to darken with time due to ultraviolet radiation. In places where the sun shines directly on the cherry wood, the wood becomes dark, however it remains young – pink, in places where the sunlight rarely reaches. After a few years of use, each piece of furniture has a different shade. By chemically treating the wood, Mobilier Group has made the new furniture look as if it was 50 years old, and ensured future homogeneity of the surfaces by applying photostabilizers to the varnished surface itself. Now all the furnishings will remain the same shade for the next 100 years, and the sunlight will not damage them.
